Frequently asked questions
Can I register if I live outside Japan?
Yes. We are looking for creators all over the world. Besides projects in Japan, we have many filming and editing projects based overseas.
Does it cost anything to register or to be introduced to projects?
No. Registration and project introductions are completely free, and there are no platform or monthly fees. You can cancel your registration at any time.
Will I definitely be offered projects?
We can’t promise that. We try to introduce work to as many creators as possible, but depending on your skills and experience it may be difficult to find a match.
How are projects offered? Do I have to accept them?
When a project matches your portfolio and skills, our team contacts you by email or chat with the schedule and fee. You decide whether to accept or decline each one.
How are fees decided, and when do I get paid?
Fees are decided based on the client’s budget and needs and on the skill level and difficulty involved. VIDWEB tells you the amount in advance. As a rule, payment is made at the end of the month after the month in which delivery is accepted (this may vary by project). Details are set out in the terms for each project.
Can I work remotely?
We encourage remote work wherever possible, although some projects can’t be done remotely.
How is VIDWEB different from crowdsourcing platforms?
Most crowdsourcing services only match clients and creators. At VIDWEB, our producers and directors stand between the client and you, so projects run more smoothly. Many of our clients are large companies, so the projects are high quality.
Can I register while working another job?
Yes, you can register even if you have a full-time job. Some employers don’t allow side work, so please check your employer’s rules yourself.
